Requirements for NHIS Recruitment 2021:

To be qualified for the 2021/2022 National Health Insurance Scheme, you need to have the following:

Basic Qualification:

An applicant is required to possess the following:

a) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Surgery (MBBS) The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) accepts a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree or its equivalent.

(b) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree or similar qualification, recognized by the Nigerian Council of Pharmacists (PCN) or the Nigerian Council of Pharmacists (PCN)

c) Qualified Nurse (BNSc or similar, Registered Nurse/Midwife [RN/RM], or other specialist nursing areas) or

(d) Degree or equivalent qualification of a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS), recognised by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)

e) Full registration with the required or applicable Regulatory Council.

f) A current practice certificate from the applicable or appropriate Regulatory Council.

g) NYSC certificate of discharge or exemption

(h) Note that an adequate number of years of cognate experience is needed for positions above the entry point for each cadre.

I A postgraduate degree in public health, family medicine, health planning and management, or a related field, is a plus for higher-level positions.

j) Prior experience and expertise in tracking and assessing healthcare systems and facilities is preferred.

Description of Duties:

Officers, Senior Officers, Assistant Supervisors, Managers, Senior Managers, Principal Managers, and Assistant General Managers in all cadres will be required to perform the following tasks, among others, under the supervision of the State Office Coordinator:

a) All quality control practices in the State Office, including accreditation and other quality assurance functions, should be led/participated in.

b)Implement and manage the Scheme’s grievance redressal mechanism as well as other transparency measures.

c) Provide the appropriate State Social Health Insurance/Contributory Agency/Scheme with technical assistance

d)Assist in the development of work plans for all facets of quality control programs, including accreditation and reaccreditation.

e)Build synergies among the State Office’s related departments’ employees.

f)Contribute, under the NHIS Organizational Guidelines, to any operational process that can contribute to high efficiency, integrity and add value to the State Office’s quality control activities.

g)Coordinate the State Call Center’s operations and ensure timely issuance of authorization codes

h)Coordinate the extraction of data needed for the analysis of the State’s NHIS Services Charges and NHIS Drug Price List

i) Carry out any other duties that the NHIS State Coordinator or their designated representatives can delegate.
