How To Install Mods In Minecraft

Minecraft users despise being told what they can and cannot construct in their blocky, virtual sandbox. The hit title, which is currently the best-selling game of all time, is unlikely to go away anytime soon. It’s as quirky as it is addictive, and it’s a great game to play with friends thanks to multiplayer Minecraft gameplay and the ability to create your own Minecraft server.

Since the game’s 2009 release, the benevolent Minecraft community has been churning out a fair share of mods, albeit with increasing levels of complexity and Lego-like adoration with each passing update. It’s never been easier to get started with mods thanks to a slew of custom-built mod launchers.

We’ll show you how to install Minecraft mods for every platform, whether it’s a full-blown rework on a PC or a simple add-on pack for console players. We’ve also compiled a list of the best Minecraft mods available right now.

[Note from the author: This is a general overview of how to install Minecraft mods, not a comprehensive guide.] Because installation varies from mod to mod, be sure to read the download and installation instructions that are usually included with the download options.]

Minecraft mods can be installed on both Windows and Mac computers.

There are a few different ways to get mods to work with Minecraft, but the easiest and most popular method is to use the Forge application. The following is how it works:

Step 1: Go to the official Forge website and download the software’s recommended version. You can also install the most recent Forge, but it may contain unresolved bugs that prevent you from running some mods properly.

Step 2: Find a reputable source for the mods you want to install.

CurseForge is a well-known mod repository with hundreds of excellent mods to choose from. Not all mods, or even Forge, are compatible with all versions of Minecraft. Make sure to do some research on the mod you’re interested in to see if it’ll work with your software.

Step 3 (Windows): In the. Minecraft directory, create the “mods” folder.

The following is the target address:

Users[yourname] C:Users

If the AppData folder isn’t visible in File Explorer, go to the app’s main menu and select View, then check Hidden Items.

There is no “mods” folder in the Minecraft folder if this is your first mod. Right-click the Minecraft folder in File Explorer and choose New, followed by Folder from the pop-up menu. Make a folder called “mods.”

Step 3 (Mac): In the Minecraft directory, create the “mods” folder.

The following is the target address:

/Library/Application Support/Minecraft/Minecraft/Minecraft/Minecraft/Minecraft/Minecraft/Mine

Using the Command + Shift + G keyboard shortcut, you can quickly access this Folder. Alternatively, open Finder, select Go from the menu bar and then press the Option key to access the Library folder. Then comes Open Application Support, followed by Minecraft.

Right-click within that Folder, select New Folder from the pop-up menu, and give it the name “mods.”

Step 4: Unzip the downloaded mod and place it in the mods folder.

Step 5: Start Minecraft, but make sure your Forge account is active first. Your mods will not load properly if you do not do so.

That concludes our discussion. As we mentioned, you can always shop around if you don’t like everything Forge has to offer. There are several other mod launchers on the internet besides Forge, such as LiteLoader. However, it is the most popular for a reason, and the majority of new mods are usually compatible with the software.

Minecraft mods on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows 10 (app)

Mods for Minecraft on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 aren’t technically available. Add-ons, on the other hand, are available to players. These add-ons, unlike mods, are not free and are severely limited when compared to PC mods. They’re still better than nothing, and they’re effortless to set up.

Step 1: Open Minecraft on your console and go to the main menu, and select Marketplace.

Step 2: Choose from one of the Skin Packs, World Packs, Texture Packs, or Mash-up Packs.

Step 3: Purchase the add-on with Minecoins or a credit card.

On iOS and Android, you can install Minecraft mods.

Unfortunately, similar to the limitations found on consoles, true mods are not possible to use with a handheld version of Minecraft. Fortunately, you can customize the game using a third-party app such as Add-ons for Minecraft, BlockLauncher, or Mods for Minecraft. The following is how it works:

Only for Android users

Step 1: Go to the Google Play Store and download BlockLauncher, a popular and useful app for loading mods.

Step 2: Follow the app’s instructions, as BlockLauncher will provide you with different instructions depending on the device you’re using.

Step 3: Go back to the Google Play Store and search for Minecraft PE Mods. This app will allow you to quickly and easily download and install your mods.

Step 4: Next, go to the search bar and type in the name of the mod you want to download.

Step 5: When you’ve found the mod that’s right for you, click Install.

This will install the mod into the game you selected automatically.
