If you have a recent Android phone, it’s possible that Google Duo has already been installed on it. It’s occasionally referred to as Duo, so keep an eye out for that on your phone’s app store.
If you don’t already have it (or if you accidentally removed it), you can get it from the Google Play Store here. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can also get it from Apple’s App Store.
You’ll need to open it and login into your Google account once you’ve downloaded it. If you’re using an Android device, it’s likely that you already have one set up, but if you’re using an iOS device and don’t have a Gmail account, you’ll need to get one.
After you’ve done that, you’ll be prompted to input your phone number in order to proceed. The application will then send you a check SMS containing digits that you must enter in order to go to the next stage.
Now that you’ve accomplished that, it’s time to add your contacts.
How do you locate your contacts? Both Android and iOS users should be able to access their contacts on Google Duo fairly fast. It will reach the majority of your contacts who are already using Google Duo, while those in your contacts list who do not have the application will also appear with the option to invite them to use it.
When you press on your contact, you’ll be given options for what you want to do.

How to start a video call
When you press on the number you want to call, you’ll be offered the option of making a video or phone call. You can also record a message and send it to them without having to invite them to a call.
If you decide to call, you’ll dial their number, and the person you’re contacting must respond all at once for the call to begin. To disconnect from a call, push the red catch that looks like a phone facing downwards.
How to start a group call
To do so, you’ll need to create a Google Duo gathering. You can invite up to eleven other people to a meeting by swiping up from the Duo app’s home page and choosing “create gathering.”
You can use this to invite anybody you need to the meeting, and then send everyone a welcome to the call from there. Individuals will join the video call as they progress, and you will have the option to see them as a regular video call.
After you’ve made that gathering, they’ll show up in a section of the app called “Gatherings,” where you may dial them without having to add them all again.
You may also rename a gathering by pressing and holding the three dabs in a vertical line and selecting “rename.”

What sort of effects and filters are there?
Google Duo, like most other informative apps, comes with a variety of channels and effects that you may use on yourself. These range from changing into a fish to having prongs attached to your head.
You’d be able to record video messages with these effects or overlay them over whatever you’re capturing during a live video visit.
