How Global Postal Shipping labels work
Asendia USA, Inc. (“Asendia”) (“Global Postal Shipping Partner”), our distributor for Global Postal Shipping labels, works with USPS and other national postal services to transport packages globally.
You’ll print a USPS domestic shipping label addressed to the nearest Asendia distribution center when you buy a Global Postal Shipping label. When our Global Postal Shipping Partner receives your package from USPS, they replace the domestic shipping label with a foreign shipping label from USPS, or another national postal carrier addressed to your customer, including the details of the customers you’ve provided. They then send the package to the buyer’s address via the buyer’s country’s national postal carrier.
How much do shipping labels cost?
Etsy has no extra fees for using Global Postal Shipping labels, apart from Etsy’s regular fees (i.e., transaction fee). A shipping label’s cost is determined by the package’s origin, destination, weight, and measurements. After entering the package information on Etsy.com, you can preview a Global Postal Shipping mark cost. In your Payment Account, the expense of each purchased shipping label will be listed separately.
Available shipping services
Etsy’s relationship with Asendia provides an overseas shipping operation as part of Global Postal Shipping. It features a low-cost international shipping alternative that makes use of First Class International Parcel and other services.
For foreign orders weighing up to 4 pounds, Global Postal Shipping labels are eligible (not including those going to Canada).
The required customs forms will be given to you when you buy a foreign shipping mark. You have to ensure that all required fields are filled out.
Refunds and claims
If you purchased a label by mistake or no longer required it, you have ten (10) days to request a refund for unused, unscanned labels. A new mark may be purchased at a later date. Find out how to get a refund on a shipping sticker.

If an item is returned to you instead of the Global Postal Shipping partner facility because it is undeliverable, it will be sent directly to your address. Your shop name and the return address will appear on both domestic and foreign labels.
How does tracking work on a Global Postal Shipping label?
For both buyers and sellers, complete tracking history for Global Postal Shipping labels is only available on Etsy.com.
To ensure fast delivery, Global Postal Shipping labels use a variety of carriers. Etsy incorporates tracking details with each step of the package’s path to provide a complete picture of its journey.
The Orders & Shipping section of Shop Manager will show you your package’s status during its journey. In Shop Manager and customer updates, we note “Tracked on Etsy.”
Buyers can monitor their purchases and reviews in the Etsy app and on Etsy.com by going to You > Purchases and Reviews.

Custom IDs and tracking
For Global Postal Shipping Label packages, Etsy offers customs IDs. The package can be tracked using these ID numbers. When a package is ready to leave the United States, Customs IDs are developed.
To monitor their shipment, buyers can enter a customs ID on the shipping carrier’s website or on sites like https://www.aftership.com/couriers/.
To locate your customs ID, go to:
- Sign in to Etsy.com.
- Click Shop Manager.
- Click Orders & Shipping.
- To see the order details, click the Order Number.
- There will be a section with shipping information about halfway down the order details tab.
- Click to see more details.
- At the bottom, you’ll find the Customs ID number.
Why does Etsy partner with a provider for some international orders?
Etsy has partnered with Asendia to keep international shipping costs low and to ensure that you can continue to ship your orders globally, giving you more choices.

How do I tell my labels apart?
You’ll find that if you print many Global Postal Shipping labels at once, they will all have the same address. The buyer’s name, country, and order number, which are located at the bottom of the label, where the carbon offset banner normally is, will help you determine which label is for which order.
If you use USPS SCAN forms
These Global Postal Shipping Labels will appear on your domestic SCAN form if you use USPS SCAN forms. This is because USPS still handles the domestic leg of your package’s journey.
