Fiverr History | What you should know about Fiverr

Fiverr is an Israeli platform for freelance services online. The business provides freelancers with a forum to provide services to clients worldwide.
Micha Kaufman and Shai Wininger formed Fiverr and released it in February 2010. The founders conceived a marketplace that would provide individuals with a two-sided forum for buying and selling a selection of digital services usually offered by freelance contractors. Reading, translation, web design, video editing, and programming are the site’s resources. Fiverr’s services start at US$5, and with gig extras, they can go up to thousands of dollars. Each offered service is known as a “gig.”

The website was launched in early 2010 and hosted over 1.3 million gigs in 2012. Since 2011, the transaction volume of the website has risen 600 percent. Additionally, since the beginning of 2013, Fiverr.com has been ranked among the top 100 most popular sites in the United States and the top 200 globally.

Fiverr raised a US$1 million seed investment from Guy Gamzu and other angel investors on June 1, 2010, and Fiverr obtained US$15 million in Accel Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners funding in May 2012, taking the company’s total budget to US$20 million.
Fiverr launched its iOS app on the Apple App Store in December 2013, and Fiverr released its Android app on the Google Play Store in March 2014.

Fiverr was revealed in August 2014 that it had raised US$30 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Accel (formerly known as Accel Partners), and other investors in a Series C round of funding. The game takes their overall support to 50 million US dollars to date.

How to Delete Your Fiverr Account

In October 2015, Amazon.com initiated legal action against 1,114 Fiverr vendors on the US edition of its website, claiming to have fake reviews. “As Amazon noted, we have worked closely together to remove services that violate our terms of use and respond promptly to any reports of inappropriate content.” Fiverr did not deny Amazon’s claims.
In November 2015, Fiverr reported that in a Series D round of funding, led by Square Peg Money, it had raised US$60 million. The band takes their overall investment to 110 million dollars to date. At the same time, the company announced that it was expanding the marketplace to give vendors, at rates above the original US$5 price, the opportunity to price the services produced, known as Gigs.
On February 19, 2020, the company announced revenue for the 2019 fiscal year of $107.1 million.
