If you have a Samsung Galaxy S9, watching multimedia content, playing video games, or just browsing the web is always a thrill. But what if you could amp up the fun by mirroring your Galaxy S9 screen to another device? You’ve come to the right location if that’s what you’re looking for. Here are four methods for making the most of Miracast technology and screen mirroring your S9 material, all of which are simple to implement. Choose the choice that best fits your needs.
1. Samsung S9 screen mirroring, using Wi-Fi Direct.
This approach is only applicable to TVs with built-in screen-mirroring or Smart TVs. If you don’t have one, go ahead and read process 2 instead. Smart TV owners can mirror their S9 screen using a traditional wired alternative via one of the TV’s HDMI ports, as I’ll discuss later, but given the enhanced capabilities of smart devices, it’s preferable to cast the content shown on your S9 screen wirelessly, without the use of wires, adapters, or even bypassing your Wifi link. Your Samsung Galaxy S9 should have the SmartView app installed for this purpose, which allows you to send content from your mobile device to most TVs that support screen-mirroring. To access the pull-down menu on your S9, go to settings or slide your finger down from the top of the screen. The Smart View Icon should be turned on.
Step 3:
Choose the computer on which you want to mirror. If you followed phase 1 right, your Smart TV should appear in the list of available devices.
Step 4:
Finally, a message can appear on your Smart TV asking you to approve or reject the connection; please select the option that allows your S9 to send its screen content to your TV using your remote control. That’s what there is to it. You’re ready to start seeing a bigger picture (literally) of what’s on your S9 phone.
2. Samsung S9 screen mirroring to a LED TV, using Chromecast
You’ll need an Internet wifi network to which you can link both your Galaxy S9 and the Chromecast streaming system. We recommend the Chromecast Ultra, the most recent version of this device, but the previous version of this device is also available and might function for you. Follow these steps to set it up and start screen-mirroring your smartphone:
Step 1:
Connect the Chromecast to the HDMI port on your TV.
Step 2:
Connect the Chromecast to the power adapter, then to the wall outlet. (Alternatively, any USB port on your TV can be used to power the device.)
Step 3:
Ascertain that your Galaxy S9 and Chromecast are both wired to the same Wifi SSID.
Step 4:
Install the Google Home app on your Galaxy S9:

Follow the directions in the Google Home app. The app will walk you through the Chromecast installation process.

3. Samsung S9 screen mirroring to a LED TV, without Wifi
Once you’ve got the Screen-Beam Mini or similar, do as follows:
Step 1:
Connect the Screen-Beam Mini2 to your TV’s HDMI port.
Step 2:
Connect the power cable’s micro-USB end to the ScreenBeam Mini2, then the power adapter to the wall outlet. (The unit can also be powered by any USB port on your TV.)
Step 3:
Switch on the television and hit the source button on your phone. On your television screen, a list of input channels will appear. Choose the input that corresponds to the HDMI port where the ScreenBeam Mini2 was plugged in.
Step 4:
To access the Smart View Icon on your S9, go to settings or slide your finger down from the top of the screen to reveal the pull-down menu.
Step 5:
Then choose the unit on which you want to mirror. If you followed steps 1, 2, and 3 correctly, your ScreenBeam Mini2 should be listed among the available devices to communicate with. Select it, and you’re ready to watch your Samsung Galaxy S9 screen on your television.
4. Using a wired connection to mirror your Samsung S9 to a LED TV
If you don’t have a Smart TV or any of the devices that can make your LED TV smarter, the wired option is probably the best option for you. In this case, you’ll need your Samsung Galaxy S9, an HDMI cable, a USB-C to HDMI adapter, and, of course, an HDMI port on your TV. You’ll notice that this approach is very easy, and the most difficult part could be deciding which HDMI to USB-C adapter to buy. The Samsung Slimport HDMI to USB-C, which is one of the many options available, will suffice. You could also get a USB-C to HDMI cable instead of having the HDMI to USB-C adapter. It gets the job done and can save you some money. After you’ve gathered everything you’ll need to connect the two computers, do the following:

Step 1:
Connect your HDMI cable to your television.
Step 2:
Then plug the other end of the cable into the adapter’s HDMI port. (If you choose the HDMI to USB-C cable, you can skip this step.)
Step 3:
Finally, connect the adapter (or cable) to your Samsung S9 phone via the USB-C connector.
Step 4:
Switch on the television and hit the source button on your phone. On your TV screen, a list of input channels will appear. Select the one that corresponds to the HDMI port where the cable was plugged in, and there you have it! The content from your Samsung S9 screen should begin to appear on your television.
Finally, since the USB type C port on your S9 device is compatible with VGA and DVI standards, you can screen mirror to other devices such as projectors and monitors with different input ports. After you’ve obtained the required adapters (or cables), follow the steps outlined in method 4.
