It’s bad enough that you’ve forgotten your Facebook password. It’s even worse when you know you’ll be up for other services using your Facebook account. But don’t worry; there are a few options for recovering your password. It will just take a few minutes if you use the same email address or phone number as when you enrolled. Some of them, on the other hand, will only work if you plan ahead of time.

I would like to change my Facebook password but I am not sure how to do so.

What are the best ways to set up a recovery email, phone number, and emergency contact information?

How do you change your Facebook password?

There are a few options available to you. The simplest approach is to utilize a recovery code, but you’ll need access to the email address you used to sign up for Facebook to do so:

To begin, log in to Facebook.

To log in, use the most recent password you can remember.

If the email address associated with your account is invalid, Google will give you a recovery code. It’ll be used to access your account.

What should you do if the email address you used to register is no longer valid? If you have a backup email address or phone number, you can still log into Facebook. It will also work if your Google account is linked to your Facebook account. The following is how it works:

To log in, go to the Facebook login page.

Make a click on Have you forgotten your password? if you’ve forgotten your password

You can use a Google account, a backup email address, or your phone number to change your password. Continue to the next step in the process to reset your password.

If none of these techniques work, you can recover your account by contacting your trusted contacts. It only works, though, if you’ve already chosen your trustworthy contacts:

To log in, go to the Facebook login page.

Select the appropriate choice in the pop-up window. Do you have any idea where these documents went?

You can now use a different email address or phone number if you want to.

Instruct your friends and relatives to go to https://www.facebook.com/recover to get the recovery codes for you.

To reset your account, enter the codes, then click Continue and follow the instructions.

You won’t be able to log into your Facebook account if you can’t access the email account you used to sign up for the service or if you haven’t set up a backup email, phone number, or emergency contacts. It’s impossible to tell if the person trying to reclaim your Facebook account is you.

What are the steps for setting up a recovery email, phone number, and emergency contacts?

If you forget your password and try to log in, you should include additional verification and recovery information, such as a phone number and trustworthy contacts. It’s a good idea to keep a couple of additional verification methods on hand in case you forget your password or someone tries to steal your account.

After entering into your Facebook account, select Settings from the drop-down box on the right.

Go to Contact under the General page and add a backup email address and phone number.

Then, on the Security and login screen, go down to Extra security settings on the left. You can choose up to five friends to help you recover your account if you forget your password in the future.

You can also change additional security and privacy settings while you’re at it. If you haven’t already, set up unknown login notifications and two-factor authentication. You can also add it to your password manager after changing the password to something long and difficult (you can check its strength with our password strength checker). You won’t have to worry about losing it if you do it this way.
