Facebook Dating – How To Set Up Your Profile – Facebook officially launches free dating service. It’s Facebook Dating and lives in the United States now. It works like this.
What is Facebook Dating? – set up your profile
Facebook introduces its new data services to Facebook users to find meaningful connections through everyday things (i.e., similar interests and groups). It would help if you took away the tediousness of creating a separate database profile. Even Instagram is integrated to share Instagram messages in your dating profile directly and add Facebook friends and followers on Instagram to secret crush lists. Of course, you might be Facebook Dating skeptical. After all, even online, it’s great to find a partner. You, therefore, need to choose to use Facebook Dating. You will also be able to report and prevent anyone, and people will not be able to send you photos, videos, messages, etc.
Other key features:
- You can add your Instagram posts to your profile in Facebook Dating.
- You can opt into Events and Groups to see people with similar interests, though, remember, you will also be visible to them.
- You can share details of the date – with your live location – via a friend on Facebook Messenger to ensure you feel safer on a date.
- By the end of the year, Facebook will make it possible to add Facebook and Instagram Stories to your dating profile, too.
How does Facebook Dating work? – set up your profile

To ensure the latest version of the app is run, update the Facebook iOS or Android app. Facebook Dating is shown in a new tab on the Facebook app’s main menu. Go to Facebook Dating and build a Dating Profile (separate from your main profile).
You can provide yourself with personal information such as your height, religion, job title, diplomas, and education, as well as whether you have children, etc. Facebook may also offer your Facebook profile photographs and information that can be edited or removed when you create a data profile.
Note: To use Facebook Dating, you must be 18 years or older.
Finding a match
During setup, Facebook Dating will ask you to indicate your gender and the gender of people you are interested in. You will see inclusive gender options like cis woman, trans woman, cis man, trans man, and non-binary, and you can choose between everyone, women, men, trans women, or trans men, who is interested in the gender. Neither information with any potential matches will be shared.
You’ll be only suggested to others who have chosen Facebook dates, and people based on your preferences, interests, and other things you do on Facebook will be suggested to you. You’re going to see friends and not people in the circle of your friends. Facebook Dating isn’t going to match you with your friends on Facebook – except you, both add to your Secret Crush lists. (More on the following.)
Contacting a match
